How Many Kids Did You Kill Today PM Netanyahu

Yesterday, the Israeli armed forces under the ultimate command of Prime Minister Netanyahu killed an estimated 400 mostly unarmed young people in Gaza. Today Netanyahu announced further full scale bombing of Gaza so we can expect another 400 or more innocent Palestinians will be murdered. These will be added to the roughly 48,000 killed by the “world’s safest army” over the past few years when it was constantly under the leadership of Prime Minister Binjamin Netanyahu. A little understanding of Israeli politics is in order. Netanyahu faces a prison sentence the moment he stops having the immunity of a Prime Minister. Hence he will do anything, kill Palestinians, have Israeli soldiers killed, while entangling the U.S. in a war it doesn’t need all in an effort to save his own neck. Indeed, one wonders how many people have been killed in Israel and Palestine since 1897 when Theodore Herzl founded the Zionist movement aimed at moving European Jews to Palestine to establish the “promised land”. Herzl seemed to labor under the impression that there were very few people in Palestine at the time and that the European Jews would face no opposition to Zionism in Palestine proper. Herzl even toured the area and failed to see that there were 600,000 Palestinian Muslim Arabs and only 28,000 Jews in the region. It would have been one thing if the Zionists were planning on blending in with the local people, but they were not. Indeed, they were planning on seizing the land from the Muslim Arabs who it was thought would move, more or less peacefully to places like Lebanon, Syria, Egypt, Iraq, or maybe even Turkey. Herzl had a powerful intellect and great organizing capability, but he really got the Palestine situation wrong. Netanyahu’s father, Benzion Netanyahu, was an ultra ardent Zionist who participated whole heartedly during the early founding years of Israel in the murder and expulsion of Palestinians from the embryonic Jewish state. His son Binyamin has followed in his father’s footsteps and far surpassed him in the killing of Palestinians and neighboring Arabs, Odious and reprehensible as this is, there is at least a certain logic to it in that Jews have dreamed of the Biblical Promised Land for more then two thousand years. Indeed the prayers of Jewish people on holy days include the phrase, “next year in Jerusalem”. There is also a logic to the prayers of Christians who provide strong support to Israel despite its massacres of Arab Muslims. The Christians think that the flowering of Israel must precede the second coming of Christ. This is more esoteric than the Jewish thirst for a return to the promised land in that it presupposes a number of extremely miraculous events. Of course, if you believe in miracles, anything is possible. But if you are the President of the United States, you have more people to serve than Jewish Americans who make up 2.4 percent of the U.S. population or even evangelical Christians who account for about 25 percent of the population. You also have to think about the future of America. As a percent of the population, both Jews and Evangelicals will almost certainly decline. Further, the rest of the world has no particular love of Israel. In view of the Holocaust, Europeans, especially Germans, are inclined to steer clear of criticism of Israel, but for the rest of the world Israel is of little concern and the Europeans are becoming increasingly impatient with the trouble Israel generates. The Israel lobby in the U.S. is far too strong, especially in view of the fact that its efforts are aimed at further entangling the U.S. in a mess that costs us billions of dollars and the middle east thousands of lives. If Israel were truly a democracy it might act differently and cause less trouble, but it is not a democracy in that those those Palestinians living in the West Bank and Gaza have no vote and those living in the rest of Israel are discriminated against. Why do we allow this country to have any influence in our politics? Why do we not react against Israel’s grand theft of American technology? I did a project for the Israeli government a few years ago to help it determine how to be economically more competitive. In the course of the project, I discovered that Israel has a massive program aimed at stealing American technology. This has to be stopped. Israel is not our friend. It links us to genocide. Were it not for American arms and ammunition, Israel would not be the dominant military power it is in the middle east and thousands of Palestinians and other Arabs would not be killed. Why are we the armorers of genocide? We must rethink and stop being used as a tool by Israel.
